Sterling Volunteers
How and why we do it.
To safe guard our children, the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists has contracted with Sterling Volunteers to provide their schools and churches with a web-based, secure, 24/7 online platform to conduct criminal background screening of all adult employees and volunteers.
Our students’ safety is, and has always been, a top concern at KAS. To help facilitate this, we ask that all current church/school employees, KAS parents, and volunteers who work with our children/youth at KAS, to participate in the Sterling Volunteers screening program at the beginning of the school year. It is no cost to you, and you will have the assurance of knowing your child is in a safe school environment. Below are instructions on how to complete the course. This free training course and background check will take about 1 1/2 hours to complete. It does not need to be done all in one sitting, you will be able to pause the program and revisit it at your convenience. The certification is good for 4 years.
